ARC Report Card Software

School communities needing a better student reporting system now have a way to chart the progress of individuals in terms of the learning Outcomes required by educational authorities. Report Card offers teachers an easy way to keep track of the achievements of students and provides parents with a continuously updated record of their children's strengths and weaknesses.

The process is simple. As a student makes progress, the teacher selects the Outcomes, Comments, Work Skills, Grades or Results they wish to address, then marks the appropriate square on a printed form. These forms are scanned into the computer. Reports are then printed, collated and sent home.

Report Card also provides a comprehensive database of the whole school's performance so that the most appropriate action can be taken to optimise the learning environment. While the productivity of teachers is increased when using Report Card, the time they devote to this task is significantly reduced. Up to 100 hours a year is saved by teachers in data entry time alone.

Report Card is an advanced and sophisticated solution to the time-consuming duty of preparing student assessment reports. The information provided helps to track down learning problems early because achievements are recorded only when progress is made by the student. Individual performances across the whole subject spectrum can be charted easily and quickly, and class comparisons can clearly show which pupils are struggling with their work-load.

The content of Report Card can be customised to suit the requirements of the school. Course summaries and numerical marks can be included, work and social skills described and personal comments noted. All in far less time than would be spent if not using Report Card.

Report Card is the only student assessment system that has automatic data entry and a report designer included as an integral part of the software package. This program is being used in numerous schools within New South Wales and has applications wherever learning Outcomes are the driving force of education. It has been estimated that over 300 000 schools worldwide could make use of this technology to improve the learning environment.

Plans are well advanced to work with an Australian distributor of digital office devices to ensure all Australian schools have access to ARC's Report Card. By 2001, joint ventures with international distributors will be in place to take this advanced student reporting system to overseas markets.

The future of learning will involve an interactive collaboration between parents, teachers and students using the Internet. Report Card 2000 will make this form of on-line help a reality.
