Aerogenesis

The Aerogenesis 5 kW wind turbine

The wind turbine technology developed by Aerogenesis takes off-the-shelf engineering components and integrates them with a highly-efficient blade design to deliver turbines that are 40 percent cheaper than market-leading alternatives.

The key to Aerogenesis’ technology is a specially-designed 5 metre diameter blade system that offers excellent performance in both low and high wind conditions, generating up to 5kW. the results of a 15 year research and development program, the energy-efficient nature of the blade system ensures quiet operation. It is coupled with a custom-designed controller based on a standard motor controller, providing a solution that is much more cost-effective than using custom-designed parts without sacrificing performance. An inbuilt microprocessor unit can be connected to the Internet for remote monitoring.

Aerogenesis has also custom-designed a self-supporting 18 metre vandal-proof tower which is easy to manufacture. It sits on foundations that are no larger than 1 metre square, making it suitable for installation in urban environments. The entire system has been designed to meet the strictest IEC safety standards for wind turbines.

Aerogenesis turbines are suitable for urban environments. ‘Plug and play’ capability means that turbines can be connected directly to the power grid without the need for a separate inverter.  Turbines can be used to provide a green energy source on site, or to generate income by feeding excess energy back into the mains power grid. They are also suitable for battery charging in remote locations not connected to the power grid.
