Package Contents Inspection System
Package Content Inspection System (PCIS) looks inside sealed orderly packs to ensure their contents are correct. They are an invaluable production line tool for improving product quality, increasing production line efficiency, reducing customer complaints and thereby increasing profit.
PCIS equipment finds and rejects missing and damaged items inside sealed packs as they are conveyed down a production line at high speed. It achieves this using a unique, safe (non xray), patented electromagnetic inspection technique.
PCIS technology uses a low voltage AC electric field of lower frequency than AM radio. As a sealed package is conveyed through the sensor, a series of slices are assembled into an overall picture of the internal contents of the package.
A computer analyses this overall picture for any defects. Faulty product is automatically removed from the conveyor by a reject device. Production line operators can inspect the rejected product, make adjustments, and thereby improve the quality of the product and the efficiency of the production line.
PCIS equipment works as fast as product can be conveyed. It is more accurate than checkweighers and safer and simpler than xray. PCIS equipment is ultra reliable as there are few mechanical parts.
Fundamentally, PCIS technology represents a new type of sensor, which can solve problems that other sensors can not. PCIS technology can be employed to inspect defects in individual items, items missing from packs, packs missing from shipping cartons, mangled or crushed items or other specific defects.
