12D Model: Terrain Modelling, Surveying and Civil Design Software
Designing or analysing civil engineering, surveying and terrain modelling projects has until recently been a slow task requiring powerful computers with large data processing capabilities.
However, 12D Model from Australian company 12D Solutions Pty Ltd, allows civil engineers and surveyors to use their standard office PCs to crunch the numbers in a tenth of the time. 12D Model has been designed for use throughout the life of a project, from initial site investigation and concept design to construction and final quality checks.
Customers can quickly analyse and modify large concept and planning jobs for roads, railways and site works. This level of functionality generally means long processing times and expensive mid-range workstations but with 12D Model, a personal computer running Windows NT or Windows 95 can provide fast results. 12D Model's interactive nature gives immediate feedback at every stage in the design process. It features intuitive screen menus and fast graphics, and the powerful programming language allows users to customise the software to suit their individual needs. The Australian-developed 12D Model software package is based on industry programming standards so data can be exchanged with other design systems, a variety of drainage analysis packages and CAD software bringing a cohesive view to large projects.
