ProFlote: Mineral Fines Recovery
ProFloteĀ® boosts the efficiency and profits of mineral processing plants by improving the recovery of very fine mineral particles (< 20 mm) from ore. Until now these fine minerals have been poorly recovered - resulting in an increased waste disposal challenge and a major loss of potential revenue.
Improving fine mineral recovery is a high priority for all mines. The proportion of mineral lost depends on the particular characteristics of the ore and mineral, but is always a multi-million dollar problem. ProFlote provides the first effective solution by applying the principle of fine particle aggregation to the flotation separation of minerals. Mineral particles < 20 mm (which float poorly) are selectively aggregated so they form particles > 20mm (which float more efficiently).
The ProFlote equipment is bolt-on technology that can be plugged into existing operations without any special services or re-design, and left to run itself without any operational or maintenance input from the mine except for a small supply of compressed air.
The technology was developed entirely in-house in Australia. Its inventors own all IP and are principal shareholders of Ausmetec Pty Limited, which holds an exclusive licence to commercialise the technology. The ProFlote name is registered and an international patent is pending.
ProFlote has been thoroughly evaluated and proven in use by numerous internationally recognised customers. Its performance has been repeatedly confirmed by extensive scientific statistical studies, and it delivers substantial returns wherever it is installed on a commercial basis. Copper mines that install ProFlote typically recover an additional 3-5%. While customers rent the ProFlote, the benefit is generally about 10 times the rental cost.
International interest in ProFlote is growing strongly. Copper, zinc, tin, nickel, tantalum and chromium processing plants in Africa and the Americas offer great potential. The estimated demand from copper mines alone is 500 ProFlote units.
Ausmetec has scaled up its manufacturing plant and is establishing international distribution channels. It seeks new investors to help it realise the full global potential of this unique technology.
