Radiofrequency fingerprint scanning is the cornerstone of Bio Recognition Systems' (BRS) innovative BioScan™ technology for personal identification.
When a person wants to pass an entrance controlled by the BRS device, they place a finger on a rectangular sensor matrix. An electronic signal is activated which scans the subdermal layer of the finger. The minute elements in the matrix pick up the signal when it is reflected from the finger and create a digital image of the fingerprint. This subdermal layer is identical to the surface fingerprint so an accurate undistorted image can be obtained even when the surface layer has been obliterated or the finger pattern is damaged.
BioScan™ provides a lower cost, higher quality result than competing systems. It utilises the latest in biometric technology to monitor activity, control room access, audit use of facilities and prevent unauthorised entry to any room, building or IT network. The patented sensor design ensures a real fingerprint image is obtained even when the surface of the skin is callused, wet or dirty.
This technique makes swipe cards and passwords obsolete and saves money because cards do not need to be issued. It is noninvasive, safe and fast while being powerful enough to protect the most sensitive sites.
